Low difficulty “Fire” attribute labyrinth, [Zest].

It is made up of 10 levels, and demons that have resistance to fire and use “Fire” magic wander around.

[Sogles Douay Numeorarut] is the name of its Guardian.

In Arkrea, it seems to mean “The one who drew the heat from the heavens and turned the city into scorched earth”.

The reason it wasn’t translated that way for Kousuke is that it corresponds to an ancient language.

Come to think of it, the names of magic and demons were also regarded as a unique series of sounds, so maybe those are also ancient words.

The translation function doesn’t work when there are no words that correspond to the world they were in originally, or when the language is classified as an ancient language in Arkrea.

[Sogles Douay Numeorarut] – or Sogles for short – is said to be a humanoid demon.

Rather than humanoid, it’s more accurate to call it a human-sized demon.

A human made of fire.

And it can speak and understand human language.

Its characteristics are those of a combat maniac.

It ignores the pleas for life and take pleasure in hunting humans, which is more in line with the behavior of a homicidal maniac.

Taiga obtained the following characteristics of Sogles through his own experience and information gathering:

Natural Attributes Immunity

Maximum Attribute Resistance

Puppetization of the murdered (for every human killed, the number of alter egos increases by one.)

Exercises all types of magic used by the demons in the [Zest].

Abnormally high Endurance.

Certainly, this subjugation request cannot be asked of anyone else.

[Zest]’s Guardian has been subjugated once before.

Then, three months ago, a structural change took place, and a new Sogles appeared.

The previous Guardian was apparently a much lower-ranked demon than Sogles, as far as the word goes.

That’s why Taiga’s party took on the new Sogles, despite not having much information on it, thinking it would be easy prey.

Originally, there weren’t many people that would challenge a Guardian or magic tool holder, so even two months after it appeared, there wasn’t much information circulating about it.

If I were to say something harsh, the cause of defeat was pride.

You can call it self-inflicted, or you can even shun it.

But no matter the reason, Kousuke understands the pain of losing someone you love.

What’s more, hearing Taiga’s stories of his growing anger towards Sogles was the catalyst that sparked Kousuke’s fighting spirit.

Of the three dead companions, a woman named Mio and a man named Cruz had been dating.

Cruz was the first victim as he tried to cover for Mio.

Cruz’s body was engulfed in flames and became a puppet.

Sogles then had Cruz rape Mio.

Mio died, burning and humiliated.

Sogles didn’t even enjoy it.

It caught Hanna and raped her while searing her.

It restrained itself just enough to keep her from dying.

Taiga and Clara had been able to escape because of this ridiculous atrocity.

He felt something rough in his chest.

The very act of raping a woman makes Kousuke feel uncontrollable anger.

Kousuke apologized when he killed [Cresen Memeus].

It just ate something nutritious.

It was unfair for humans to kill it.

So, he apologized.

But he didn’t need to be considerate towards Sogles.

I’m just going to kill him as an enemy.

“Kuro, you’re a good guy.”

Taiga looked at Kousuke’s expression as he listened, and praised him.

“Don’t say that again. I’m embarrassed.’”

“My comrades, they are strangers to you. And in your death, only you’re the one that gets hurt. You’re truly a good guy.”

“My friend`s friends, are also my friends, so there is nothing wrong with mourning their death”

“……pfft, I suppose. Thank you, my friend.”

After paying the bill, they stood up.

Kousuke’s eyes met with Vinne’s. He raised his hand lightly and she smiled at him in a bewitching way.

Shiro walks by and he touches her ass.

“What kind of out-of-context sexual harassment is that?!”

He laughed because she was angry with me.

Shiro brought Econa with her.

Her face is very anxious.

He strokes her head.

It has a silky feeling to it

“I’m going out.”

“Hai! Have a good day, goshujinsama. Please take care of yourself.”

“Yeah, I’d like to have something you made for dinner. Can I ask you that?”

“Yes! I’ll make it with all my heart and soul to please my goshujinsama!”

Once again, he stroked her head.

Looking at Econa’s ticklish smile soothes my heart.

Then the two men left [Shizukutei of Life] (TL: The name of the bar -> Droplet of Life)

“That’s the reason you can’t die, Kuro.”

“Ah, you’ll be eating with us too.”

At those words, Taiga looked amused and then laughed.

“I wasn’t planning on dying.”

“But you’re willing to die for it.”

“………I have been seen through?”

“I will free your comrades’ souls. I’ll kill Sogles, too. And, Taiga, I won’t let you die. If you want to die, don’t. Unless you want me to suffer the agony of losing a friend.”

“…Yeah. Throwing burdens on those left behind to make it easier is not acceptable. I’m sorry, Kuro. I’ll come back home with you; I promise.”

“Good. As soon as I’m equipped, we’ll go –  to kill Sogles.”
